Hellraiser: Inferno-
A series of grisly and ritualistic murders are occurring
and Joseph Thorne (a
pretty shady police detective) is on the case. A puzzle box is found and of
course officer Joseph solves it. I guess that by opening this box it will help
him solve the case? This leads him down a path to the killer who is known as
“The Engineer.” This “Engineer” in turn kidnaps a kid, begins leaving kid
fingers behind at crime scenes, kills off Joseph’s friends and taunts him at
every turn. This drives Joe a bit nutty. He starts seeing demons, is subjected
to brutal physical and psychological torments.
Eventually officer
Joseph discovers that all this is familiar and that is when Pinhead pops up and
explains the story to Joseph and the three viewers who don’t get what is going
on here. See Detective Joseph Thorne is a real A-hole and is being punished for
his cruel and misbegotten life. Once he opened the puzzle box then he was
trapped within it. Now Pinhead and his buddies get to mess with Joe for
eternity. Cue the hooked chains and screaming!
Hellraiser: Inferno
is a just awful crime drama that involves those pesky cenobites mixed in
with a morality tale and an infinity loop. This is a nice attempt at a “What a
twist!” story, but it falls really short. There is also barley any Pinhead and
gang in here either. That is always disappointing for a Hellraiser title. The
creep, blood, torture and gore are low for what I expect from a Hellraiser
title.
Watch this if you like a weak horror version of Ground Hog
Day mixed with a bit of Tales from the Crypt staring Craig Sheffer (the poorman's
David Boreanaz).
I’ll try again with Hellraiser: Hellseeker next.
I think you're gonna end up finding that the first two Hellraiser movies will always be the best...Good luck on your quest though.
ReplyDeleteI am going to push through Hellseeker and maybe one more. I kinda figure the first two are only descent movies.
