The Vargard's Duty!

Finished my Vargard Obyron model. I like the model due to the simple pose. I really isn't battle action Obyron, but a battle pensive Obyron.

5 Immortals with Tesla

I grabbed a Immortal/Deathmark box and got to work getting those bad boys together. I figured a squad of 5 Immortals with tesla guns would be good to have.

Watched a game of 6th 40K

Tuesday night I watched my first game of 6th edition 40K. It didn't look too awful either. It was a casual game of Guard vs. Tyranids at 1500 points. It was a diagonal set-up with 4 objectives of the random mystery variety.

What did I glean from this game? Well.............

Dark Knight Rises

Everyone and their sister has a in depth review of this movie. I'll hit my high points and all that.

A quick rundown of the events………….It has been eight years since the events of the last film. Gotham is like 99% crime free somehow. Batman is “retired” and crippled up as well. All is super in Gotham and then Bane shows up to finish the events of the first film. Then some stuff happens to all the involved parties. There is also a “twist” or an attempt at one (if you know Batman stuff or just watched the animated series, you can guess this ahead of time). Oh yeah, there is a female cat burglar in the movie too.

Non Illuminor Szeras finished

A great model, poor material and pants on head rules. It must be Illuminor Szeras!

After a not so pleasant Finecast experience, My non-Szeras Necron guy is done. I'm not sure what he'll be, probably a random Cryptek or Overlord if I'm bored.

Finally read through 6th...

...and still want to see a game before I decide to play.

Sure there is a ton of stuff here, but only like 100 pages of rules. The rest is pretty, but useless if you have played any edition of 40K in the past. A thinned down book with just core rules would be nice and might come with a starter set in the future, but until then we are stuck with a giant book and barley a quarter of it is rules.

Now I know everyone else has chimed in and there have been an uncountable number of posts about the new rules. Here goes my hat into that ring. I have not played, but having played from 3rd-5th the main game hasn't changed, only the minor stuff is different.

I’m not going to get too deep into the rules, since it has been done by so many others. This is more of my read through impression on some of the new stuff.

The final season has started!

Last nite the last days of Walter White and Jessie Pinkman have begun. Breaking Bad season five started, and in the premiere did not disappoint!

Comic Con 2012 and I'm still @ home

That time of year when I have three days of coverage to follow via the interweb and television.
Another year of Comic Con is here and already I'm over saturated with nerdness and general geekery.
There are many reason for me to go and as many not to go as there is every year.
This is just one more thing that was on the, "Ian, you should go" list...............

Gun upgrades for my Necrons

My old Necron guns were just stripped down, since I hate the long barrel glow stick.
I wanted a compact weird blaster look for them.

I thought it was time for a change.

Aliens,zombie cops and a D&D game

Joe Piscopo, master of movie emotion!

After a hiatus we hit the world of 4th D&D this past weekend. However, there were a few minor distractions before we started; the viewing of They Live and then Dead Heat. Actually these movies only made the night of gaming better. They Live we all know and love for the classic “Chew bubblegum” line and a fantastic bum fight. Dead Heat though, I had only seen it once back 100 years ago and had very few memories of it. Thankfully now I have a fresh set. Like asking,”Who?” whenever someone mentions the name Arthur P. Loudermilk (or any person’s name), to see the largest building to only house three rooms, tucking of jackets into jeans, a class in emoting, the simplest computer programming ever for complex re-animation machine, fat Lea Thompson, and some of the best story telling around. I remembered it being bad, but had forgotten to what lengths it went to be so bad.

Demon Prince or Dread?

While the world mulls, breaks and/or complains over 6th edition I have been painting. I finally finished this guy!

zombies + chainsaw + cheerleader = fun

Juliet Starling-zombie hunter?

I picked up Lollipop Chainsaw yesterday. Why? Well simple, it has a zombie hunting chainsaw wielding cheerleader as the main character. That alone had me hooked. Second, it had a play style similar to Devil May Cry (the original game, the fun one). Third, it looks over the top ridiculous. Fourth, I’m a creature of habit. And finally, it has a zombie hunting chainsaw wielding cheerleader in it.

It is everything I expected and wanted from a title called, Lollipop Chainsaw. It is full of crass humor, violence, a mix of pop/rock/metal and a scantily clad buxom heroine. You know, stuff that I still enjoy.

"This isn't the 6th edition post you are looking for."

"You don't need to see the 6th edition 40K rules."

With all the interwebs in shambles and excitement over the new 40K edition, I thought I’d take some time and get away. I don’t have the rules and everyone else has only had then for 1-3 days by now. I think it silly to contribute to the 1st week madness that comes with a new rule book. However, it is the nature of the beast for others to dive right into it.
