Have you seen this unit? 21.1

An extension of the previous post about the Weirdboyz.

There is one Orc psyker feared above all others, Old Zogwort. He is the most powerful of all Ork psykers! He has a back ground that reminds me of some folk legend like Paul Bunyan, John Henry or Pecos Bill.

Cue old timey folk music...............

He was born under a total eclipse in a nest of snakes and they didn't kill him. He fought them as a baby ork and killed them. From that point on no snake would dare bite him again. As he grew so did his orky psy powers. Eventually he was melting faces, firing green lightning everywhere and destroying whole regiments of Imperials. He then took to the stars seeking out and following WAAAGH! energy in its purest form, during ork invasions.

Old Zogwort is a modified Weirdboy. He has similar stats except he has a BS 0, is toughness 5 and leadership 8. He is a psyker/warphead and follows all those rules along with the usual ork rules. He has no equipment save a bag of snakes, Nest of Vipers and has one additional psy power, Zogwort's Curse. He is also just barley over 2 ½ times the cost of a regular Weirdboy.

Nest of Vipers- gives him and additional D6 attacks at initiative 4. It also adds in +4 poisoned attacks for him as well.

Zogworts Curse- can be used instead of rolling on the psy power chart. You  pick and independent character withing 18". Then both players roll off and if Zogwort rolls higher, then the enemy character is turned into a squigg ( WS 4, BS 0, S 3, T 2, W 1, I 3, A 1, LD 5, SV -). There are no saves that can stop this from happening. However, he must still pass a psychic test to try it.

Well that is it for Old Zoggy. Yeah the most powerful ork psyker and this is all he does. What a load of crap! Here is a chance to make a cool character with some kind of uncontrollable devastating power.....and instead they choose this route. There is nothing in about Zoggy that screams super ork psyker.

Why is he passed on, well that is obvious. He sucks! Why spend the points on him when a regular Warboss with a few upgrades is cheaper and much better. Heck two Meks can be made from the same points as Zogwort, and they are better choices than him as well.

As a psyker he is no better than a standard Weirdboy/ Warphead. Sure he gets one extra power but it only affects independent characters. If it was like the Chaos Boon of Mutation, them it might have a bit more use. Where is all this devastating power he is described as having?

Old Zogwort could have been made a great high risk high reward psyker, but instead he is a tougher Weirdboy who has some poisoned attacks. Fix him or dump him in the next codex.
