Really? This is a problem?

G.W. has been at a record pace with codex releases this edition and it is pretty damn impressive. What is not impressive is the amount of complaining I read about it.

Nyan cat and this argument have the same effect on me too!
Why is this new codex push bad? I think it is great!  If anything I am pissed because this is what I wanted back in the days of 4th and 5th. It might be possible to get every viable army (sorry Sisters but you suck and need a ton of help, as do you Black Templars) out there with a new codex during 6th edition. How awesome is that to have armies with current rules and books. No more of that 3rd edition book in 4th or early 4th edition book in 5th. I always thought getting a new edition out and updating all the armies was possible, it was just laziness or some defunct business model keeping it from happening.

However, the naysayers think this is bad. Why? Well the biggest complaint I see is... "What will G.W. do after they update all the armies?" and the even better..."What will they do with all the armies out? Where will they get their profit?"  These are the most popular complaints I have seen. You complainers really care how G.W. will make money? You think 6th edition will crumble if all the armies have current books? What the hell people?!

Having two and in a rare case three new armies a year is awful and sad. It always has been. I makes for a ton of stagnation and repetitive army lists. Since 6th edition started we have Chaos, Dark Angels, Chaos Demons and soon Tau. There is no time for stagnation. There is no time for the rise of the netlist when another book is around the corner. The lame-o cut and pasters either have to move on to the newest or....heaven forbid...just pick one or two armies to focus upon.

There is also a remarkable lack of the ever stupid phrase Codex Creep. I never believed in this and still don't. I do believe in a current codex will be better than a previous or older edition codex. That can be proven. However, the idea that the newest codex is the best, unbeatable or has the most cheats in it is just drek and always will be. The newest is just that the newest. Anyone thinking this codex creep is a real thing, why do you play? Just buy the new codex and throw it down on the table before the game. Then your opponent can just pack his stuff up if he doesn't have the same codex.

I approve of the new push of product and armies from G.W. They rarely do many things right, but this is one of them. Sure they might not get every army updated in 6th, but if they get everybody except the last two 5th edition codex releases (as they probably need the least work for the new edition), then it would still be impressive and welcome. The complainers will complain, but they really shouldn't. Hell, these are probably the same people that complained about the slow codex releases before. The people that worry about what G.W. will do if they have all the armies updated quickly...well there is no hope for you. Your argument is insipid and it saddens me to know of your existence.
