Chaos review.. Vehicle Upgrades

Before I get to the first vehicle in the Chaos codex I should probably hit the upgrades vehicles can take. There are some known and usable by everyone. There are some that have been around for a codex or more now. Sadly, I don't really see any must have upgrades in this list, but some have useful value.

Combi-bolter- +5 points

Combi-weapon- +10 points and you choose the type

Dozer Blade- +5 points and still the same

Extra Armor-+10 points and helps with shaken and pretty useless

Siege Shield-  +10  points and lets you automatically pass dangerous terrain tests. It is only available to Vindicators though. This helps the guy who is always getting his vehicles stuck and fails the re-roll.

Dirge Caster- +5 points and does not allow enemy Overwatch within 6" of the vehicle. Cheap and not awful, but you have to keep the vehicle alive though.

Havoc Launcher- +12 points and this is the only other weapon a vehicle can grab. This is a 48" S5 AP5 heavy 1 twin-linked blast weapon. This might not be the strongest weapon ever, but I will discount a twin-linked S5 blast.

Warpflame Gargoyles- +5 points and all the vehicle weapon have the Soulblaze rule. Hooray, try and keep your target on fire after shooting it.

Destroyer Blades- +15 points to get some extra damage from tank shocking. These cause D6 S5 AP- hits to a unit that this vehicle tank shocks. If the unit tries a Death or Glory attack, then they suffer 2D6 S5 AP- hits.  A much weaker version of the Ork Deathroller is all this is.

Demonic Possession- +15 points and this lowers the ballistic skill of the vehicle by 1. It also allows for a vehicle to ignore stun/shaken damage. If this is on a transport, then at the start of every movement phase (including the 1st turn) you roll a D6. If a 1 is rolled and there is a unit inside the vehicle, then a squad member is eaten by the demon doing the possessing. A model is removed with no saves of any kind allowed. The vehicle regains a lost hull point after it gobbles down a passenger. Well, no thank you here. I'll pass on the loss of BS just to ignore stun/shake and the possibility to kill my own units.

Well there they are the Chaos vehicle upgrades. There is nothing real ground breaking here.
