She dices, slices and makes juliann fries!

You know her and love her! She’ll steal your heart, by ripping it out! The one the only……LELITH HESPERAX!
She is the leader of the Wych Cult of Strife. Unlike her Wych companions she is 100% combat drug free. She needs only her skill and steel to conquer a foe. She is nimble, quick and her body is a finely honed weapon. She is the champion of champions in the gladiatorial arena. Some whisper that her abilities are from an unnatural source. They whisper it, because to say it otherwise would be fatal.  She is the premier fighting HQ for the Dark Eldar and you should look no farther if that is your goal.
So Lelith has the standard Dark Eldar rules, Night Vision, Fleet, and Power Through Pain. She has some impressive stats as well, WS 9, BS 9, strength, toughness and wounds all 3, initiative 9, 4 attacks, leadership 9 and a 6+/ 4++ save. The strength and toughness are space elf standard; but look at that 4++ save and the initiative and WS….both 9. Damn that is great! She is also armed with wicked blades (two close combat weapons), barbed hair (counts as a shardnet and impaler) and plasma grenades. The plasma grenades are huge for combat and cover. Not much (yes a few things) is going to slow her down or going before her in close combat. She also comes with three special rules; Penetrating Blade, Quicksilver Dodge, and A League Apart. All this for just an in-game price of $1.75.

Penetrating Blade makes all her close combat attacks ignore armor. This is a great help since she is only strength 3.
Quicksilver Dodge this gives Lelith a 3++ save while in close combat. It isn’t a Shadowfield, but it also not a Shadowfield.
A League Apart she receives bonus attacks based on the difference between her and the opponent’s highest WS. So against marines, the game standard, she would get 5 extra attacks (WS 9 - WS 4 = 5).
Well one can see Ms. Hesperax is quite the close combat killer. She can opt to use double weapons for a hefty 6 attacks on the charge, or go shardnet/ impaler and still have 5 charge attacks and drop attacks back on her by -1. Oh wait then we add the bonus attacks for the difference in WS. That will usually add 4-6 extra attacks. The Quicksilver Dodge gives her some resilience in close combat as well, as does her WS 9. Which can make hitting her a bit harder; however, she still only hits on a 3+? Weird how that works. Why not hit on a 2+? Well another topic for another day.
Her downfall is strength and toughness. If you can get some solid hits on her, or a plethora, she won’t make all those 3++ saves. The same goes for her attacks, if she does not roll a lot of 5+ to wound (vs. marines the game standard) then she will be all flash and no substance. She will greatly benefit from Power Through Pain like the rest of the army. Lelith with Furious Charge makes all those extra attacks a bit more frightening. Also, having her attached to a squad of Wyches can help her close combat ability. As the base Wych initiative is nice and high and they can hopefully thin numbers before retaliatory strikes on Lelith or her squad.
If you run a Wych Cult, why wouldn’t you take her? I see Lelith as the definition of the Dark Eldar force; fast, deadly and frail.
