Over the three day weekend we hit the scenic land of southern Indiana. Why there? Well there are some great caves to explore, and being a dwarf at heart I want to explore them all.
All these pictures were taken at Squire Boone's cavern. He was the the brother to the ever more famous Daniel Boone. I had no idea since I have little knowledge of the Daniel Boone stuff. I was just wanting to go cave 'sploring and this was a place to go do that. I got to see a cool cave and learn some history too!
HOORAY FOR EDUCATION!
Anyway....this was a decently neat cave. Sure there was a cave in and part of the cave will be blocked for some time (forever?) so the guided tour was sorter than advertised.
Even with that it was still really awesome down there. One could imagine all sorts of monsters and creeper s crawling up from the depths.

"You will come out no more." "WHAT!" "WHAT'LL COME OUT NO MORE?!" Without the camera flash, this small tunnel reminded me of that moment from Big Trouble in Little China |
A series of small bodies of water meet and run through this cave. It made for a sweet looking waterway.
Another drop into the depths of the Underdark |
Tunnel to Goblin Town? |
This was a huge cathedral-like room with a crazy high ceiling |
A natural rock formation that looks like a bat. "I'm the bat!" Hank Venture |
The few remains of Squire Boone are in this casket, which is in the middle of the cave. It seems really wyrd for that to be there, but whateves.
Part of me wanted to open this and peek at the bones. It is a cave and there was a coffin to loot. Right? What self respecting RPG'er wouldn't want to open this? Probably only an DC 15 roll.
Another tunnel down lower into the unknown.... |
The c=grounds were home to several cats. They were all pretty mongo sized and they were all crazy friendly.
