Oh no! They say he's got to go!

Godzilla Meets Stay Puft Marshmallow Man
Greatest fight to never happen!

Since this is Godzilla Week 2014, I thought I'd hit my favorite giant radioactive monster films.

Anything with Mechagodzilla is great with me. What is better than a giant radioactive lizard monster? A giant robot version of it is what.

"Its a boy dance party!"
The Mechagodzilla movies always warm the cockles of my black little heart. There is something about a giant robot that looks like Godzilla, but has rocket boosters, laser beam eyes, missiles, shoulder guns, giant chest laser and all other sorts of weapons that calls to me. If Mechagodzilla is throwing down, I'm right there watching.

Godzilla Final Wars is great for giant monster battles. Here Godzilla fights his way through a bit of his rouge's gallery which is fantastic! There is a lot more human action this time around too. This is kind of meh! for me, but it is better than listening to people/government/scientists/military discuss Godzilla.  Plus there is a bit where Godzilla beats down a version of the Ferris Bueller Godzilla. However, for a true Godzilla fight fest there is only one choice for me.............

Destroy All Monsters is the be all end all in kaiju combat. This is a giant monster Survivors Series/Battle Royale/ king o' the Ring. The only part missing is the steel cage.

Destroy All Monsters (1968)

Here we get Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan and Ghidorah, you know the usual suspects. Then throw in Anguirus, Gorosaurus, Kumonga, Manda, and Varan. How awesome is this? Duh, very! This is like Hulk Hogan, Macho man, Ultimate Warrior, Andre the Giant, Bret "The Hitman" Hart, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Rick Flair, and "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan all in one giant match. A bit of slow build with the monsters getting small cameos, but it culminates in a giant throw kaiju throw down. Eventually everyone teams up to beat down on Ghidorah. This has everything one wants in a giant monster movie.

ROYAL RUMBLE!

Will Godzilla 2014 be good? No idea. Will it suck? I hope not. Will it at least have a giant monster mashing buildings and yelling? YES! Can it be worse than Godzilla 1997 (or the Ferris Beuller version)? Guess I'll know for sure in a few more days.
