Well finally sat down to finish this.

After many months away, I finally returned to finish the Horus Heresy book: A Thousand Sons.

Now this might not be official G.W. cannon for the chapter of the Thousand Sons, as who knows if Black Library and the G.W. background writers mesh on such elements. Myself, I look at the Heresy books as much needed background for the 40K game.

I won't dive too far into the events as not to ruin things, but there was some really great events and items in this novel.
  1. "There are no wolves on Fenris." A fantastic quote and a mystery to be solved too?
  2. The original purpose of the Golden Throne.
  3. What Magnus really did to cause the Emperor to unleash the Space Wolves on Prospero.
  4. The history of the Thousand Sons chapter name.
  5. The Council of Nikea, which I though would be lame, but was actually interesting.
  6. The reason that this chapter fell to Chaos.
  7. The typical Astartes battles/action that this series, and most Black Library novels, are known.
  8. The razing of Prospero.
Now this is not without some flaws either. There are some lulls in the book and that is mostly when they deal with the humans travelling along and recording the Great Crusade. I know why they are in the story, I just care about them less and less each novel. There is also the continuing theme of the Shakespearian trageic hero. Every Primarch is one who we should feel sorry for by the end of the book. This is a bit tediuos and will probably continue thorough the series. However, if they try and make us feel bad for Angron, Kurz or Lorgar I'll be really disappointed.
