Deadpool.

With the looks the interweb have been giving us of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool give me hope.

Hope that they can capture some of the crazy awesomeness of the merc with a mouth.

Here is hoping for the right mix of action and shenanigans.

You made a comic about a space raccoon and his tree buddy awesome, so it shouldn't be hard to make a movie about an insane deadly smart ass awesome. Right?

New stuff from over the weekend

While I'm not a fan of the non-Russuan Russians (sans Man-o Wars and Doom Reavers) I do like Zerkiva's abilities. Now a new Zerkova shows up with a Doom Reaver bodyguard. Her model looks way better than the first and her re-sculpt. The Doom Reavers are great , until you get to the heads. The Orgoth face helmets and dreadlocks or helmet hair stuff is just kind of....well...bad.

Dead Snow, a little Norwegian film, is a ridiculous bloody good time. The plot is pretty stupid; group people go to mountain cabin for skinning and shenanigans, Nazi gold is found, evil undead Nazis rise from dead to retrieve said gold, insane amounts of crazy blood and death occur, and  scene.

 

Now those pesky undead Nazis are back in Dead Snow 2 : Red vs. Dead.

 

First a disclaimer/warning/tip. These are not the shamblers we know and love. They don’t wander around for brains. They are undead. Now not all undead have to be zombies and vampires. The guys here are angry, killy and bloody undead. Everyone just lean back, let the typical zombie bit go, remember it is a film from another country and they have differing ideas on undead, and just enjoy!

 

It seems that those pesky undead Nazis are still not finished. When they get their gold back they continue with their original orders. They are off to destroy a small Norwegian town in response for anti-Nazi sabotage, that of course happened 70 years ago. Oh those poor unsuspecting townsfolk.

We chose 30-ish point forces and went with the Mosh Pit scenario. We should ran this a long time ago just on general principle.

Borka tosses an empty mug to his faithful keg carrier and waves for another. Looking through the snowy forest he can vaguely make out a small ring of scrub pines. He has no idea why Calandra sent him up here to find this spot. Supposedly this was a scared spot for those irritating druids. If he was to take this area then so be it. Hopefully there would be some resistance to liven up this mission.

The sounds  of several braying wolves suddenly fills the forest. Borka grabs and down another full frothy mug and smiles. It looks like it was going to be a good trip after all.

Avengers 2

This weekend was a hyped boxing match, NBA/NHL playoffs and a horsey race. It was also the opening of Avengers 2. I wonder what was the bigger and better event. Yeah it wasn’t really a question.  It was Avengers 2.

 

Friday my special lady and I went to see it. Then Sunday I took the dual gribblies to go see it. After two viewings it is a damn good time.

 

I’ll skim the plot for those who haven’t seen it yet.

 

Hydra mop-up duty. Loki’s staff found. A.I. created by Stark. This is Ultron. Ultron wants Avengers gone and recruits Wanda and Pietro Maximoff to help.

A confrontation between Avengers, Ultron and non-mutant twins. Avengers have issues to squash. Ultron plan comes to fruition. Vision is created. Final confrontation between Avengers and Ultron killbot army...and scene.

STUFF!

A while back I rolled over another year on my birthday-o-meter. Hooray! I’m not dead yet!

 

I finally received my last gift. Thank you pre-orders that don’t ship until a week after release. What the crap is that? It might as well just be an order if you don’t ship it like the prefix says pre-.  I’ll stop the rant before it gets going.

 

POP vinyl Lo Pan and Jack Burton are now added to my collection of these guys. Now if only they had an Egg Shen……

 

Unleashed the starter box. A descent amount of stuff and models all in one little box. The material the models are made of is both firm and squishy. Not sure if they will hold paint, but I hope they do. The razor boars can be of use along with the farrow model that is not Targ, but Targ.

 

The Unleashed book to go along with the set. Holy crap snacks this is more a tome than a book.

 

Finally a couple of animated throwbacks from Disney. The Sword in the Stone and The Black Cauldron. I have fond memories of the Sword in Stone and barley remember anything from the Black Cauldron except the talking dog monster and the skull faced villain that wasn’t Skeletor. Hopefully they will not disappoint after all the years.
