Phantasm II is a favorite of mine. It makes little to no sense, but it a damn fun time to watch. However, I have never seen the original Phantasm and there is no better time than now to give it a viewing. If anything it should help Phantasm II make more sense. Right?
The existence of these planets is rarely made obvious but there are many of them throughout the Imperium. Travel to these worlds is forbidden except for the most well-informed and heavily armed expeditions, and even then only with a very good reason. ......or my little place to rant, post, pic and what have you about gaming, painting, models, general nerdery and such.

Christmas Eve
Well here we are again on the eve of Christmas. My presents are wrapped. The house is quiet.
Smooth sailing until tomorrow morning.
I'm gonna kick back with some nog, an adult beverage and enjoy two of my favorite X-mas time films: Trading Places and then Die Hard.
Two better films that take place during the X-mas season I have not found!

The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies review
Friday morning we hit the first available showing. I took it all in and let it simmer for a few days. Thought that would be the best thing to do before righting down thoughts on this movie.
Alright. Here we go!

Schlock and awe movie time!
Holy crap! “Body Parts” was on the other night and I couldn’t help but watch it. I saw this once long ago, and there was no better time to revisit this movie.
Bill Chrushank is a typical guy with a wife, kid and is a prison psychologist. You know he is like every other schmuck in the world. That is until a violent car crash causes him to lose his arm. Personally I think this giant automobile wreck would have killed this guy or best case left him broken beyond repair. Losing an arm is nothing compared to that. Luckily for him there is a surgeon that is willing to transplant another arm, from a “willing” donor, onto him. Who could say no to that?

Go Team Venture
From Adult Swim earlier in the year.
THE VENTURE BROS. SPECIAL - Space. The final frontier, where no one can hear you scream, revenge is only served cold, and the drinks are comped in the casino. Join the Ventures—and pretty much everyone they’ve ever crossed paths with—as they rocket to the Gargantua-2 space station for an epic, hour-long adventure that will change the Ventureverse as we know it forever. Created and directed by Jackson Publick and written by Publick and Doc Hammer, both of whom also provide voices for the special, The Venture Bros. Special is being animated by Titmouse, Inc. The half-hour animated special premieres on Adult Swim later this year.
Well that later this year bit is now early next year. Set your DVR for January 19th 2015 kiddos.
Its about damn time for some more Venture Brothers and in space by by the look of it!

Schlock and awe time!
A crazy bad guy, who may or may not be Russian and is or is not a terrorist, decides that it is time for America to fall. He recruits an army of guys ( well they maybe mercenaries or just guys who like berets, ball caps and floppy fishing hats) to invade the United States and at Christmas time to boot. They acquire some cocaine to buy weapons, to arm the guys and then attack America. It really is a simple plan to follow. Then they just have to kill the one man that can stop them, retired agent (of what agency I have no idea) Matt Hunter. Luckily he is living the sweet life in the Florida swamp along with his armadillo and buddy ( who may have actual leather for skin). After a botched attempt that leaves his buddy (seriously his skin is tanned animal hide) dead and his armadillo afraid; Matt Hunter is out to stop this terrorist and his invasion of America.

FURY ROAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!
The first look at the new Mad Max: Fury Road.
Holy macaroni! This looks completely bonkers!
I have no idea who this guy is, but I love his look!
Could be utter crap, but it cannot be worse than 90% of Beyond Thunderdome. Right?

Schlock and awe movie time!
Alright I’m diving into the masked killer film again with “The Town That Dreaded Sundown.” This is set in the late 40’s in Texarkana, Texas. Supposedly this is based on a true story, but I haven’t looked into if that was true or not. Wait….according to the interweb it is a true story. Well, the interweb is never wrong!
A hooded (or pillow cased) crazy if sneaking about at night killing couple who make out in their cars. Now he isn’t all about the body count as he only seems to kill a couple once every three weeks. Why three weeks? Why does he only go mainly for couples getting sexy in cars? No idea. See the police cannot stop this guy. Hell, they can’t find anything about him. They are completely befuddled. We get a man-hunt that goes nowhere and a killer with a thirst for killing, but with no known motivation. It is a dilly of a pickle.
"The Phantom Killer" or as we know him "Sack Face" |

Finally Smaug!
By the gods this could be the center piece on my dining room table.
Well G.W. finally got off their ass and put out the model that should have come last year in December. This Smaug model is insane!
The scale and detail are bonkers, and so is the price!
No matter how bad I would love to have this model I can never justify the price. Who can?
Continued schlock and awe!
I really liked throwing up reviews from the awful horror movies I watched during October. I think I’m going to keep doing that as it lets me warn people about just awful films or give them a heads up on the really fun stuff. I’ll grab more than just horror movies though to dilute it out a bit.
Why don’t you come along for the ride? The first selection will be…..
“The Town That Dreaded Sundown.”

Nap times over! The Force Awakens!
Alright everyone else has thrown their two cents in and so am I.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer is out all of us nerds have seen it. If not, then what the hell is wrong with you?
I have watched it twice and holy crap! Nothing is really happening. What the hell did we all expect? This is a jump cut teaser to build excitement/interest. Like there needs to be more excitement about this movie.
Alright we get a bunch of jump cuts of Star Wars-ie stuff: new storm trooper armor, new blasters, Tatooine, X-wings, creepy deep voice, light saber (with a new twist), speeder bike, guy in billowing jedi robe, rolling soccer ball droid, the Falcon and tie-fighters doing stuff.
There was not a lot of substance and I didn't think there would be. What stands out? The Falcon flying bit was awesome as was the light saber with associated laser pommel!
I have stayed away from the rumors and talk. This was my first real look at anything about this movie. I will continue to dodge the news, rumors and hype about this. That way I can go into the film unsullied. Much like the prequels. I stayed out of almost all of the noise surrounding them, but I did get caught up in Revenge of the Sith more than I should have prior to release.
I hope to be able to go in with a blank slate for expectations to keep from disappointment. J.J. Abrams has done a descent job with the Star Trek stuff, I really like the first season and some of Alias, Cloverfield was as good as it was bad and his foray into Lost was fine.
Seriously that Falcon sequence was the bees knees! Best part of the trailer!
