Hordes Trolls and Druids, the battle continues

DRUIDS
Kaya the Wildborne
Feral Warpwolf
Pureblood Warpwolf
Gnarlhorn Satyr
Wold Wyrd
TROLLBLOODS
Borka the Kegslayer
Dire Troll Mauler
Pyre troll
Troll Axer
Troll Impaler
Troll Impaler
I lose the roll for first deploy/turn, however, the lady defers to me. Hooray! Druids go first? The typical first to die loses game.

TURN 1 both sides
There is just minor shuffling of models nothing fun.
Druid Turn 2
Kaya throws stealth on the Gnarlhorn to keep any Impaler spears away.
A little shuffling from everyone else.
Troll turn 2
Iron Flesh goes up on the Axer for a DEF buff.
Then everyone moves around a bit.

Druid turn 3
Stealth stays on the Gnarlhorn
The Wold Wyrd takes aim at the approaching Axer. It fires and gains an extra attack dice due to the upkeep spell on the troll beast. This little rock is a floating gun that can fire multiple times and gains bonuses against spell casters/ units with spells on them.
The first shot hits and three dice later does no damage. A second shot is forced and no damage again. A third shot is forced and the damage is boosted (4 dice rolled here) and 1 whole point of damage is caused. WOW! Looks like one of those nights might be starting.
Kaya moves up into the ruins and cracks off a Spirit Fang spell at the approaching Axer. He is just outside of the spell range, by just I mean 0.025”. So fraking close!
Shift all the remaining big ugly beasties a bit.
Troll turn 3
Iron Flesh stays up on the Axer.
Impaler uses his animus to gain a gain boost and then has range to Kaya. Damn! I should have seen that coming but didn’t. The attack roll is boosted and the throw misses by 1.
The Axer cannot charge, but can still run, and gets right up to the Wold Wyrd.
The other trolls continue their march forward.

Druid turn 4
The Gnarlhorn keeps the stealth on him.
The Wyrd shots at the Axer and misses, misses and finally hits and boosts for 9 damage (yeah 4 dice and only 9 damage ick!).
Kaya casts her offensive damage spell, Spirit Fang, at the Mauler. It hits and it takes 3 damage. More importantly he is now -2 SPD and -2DEF so he won’t be charging anywhere.
She casts it again and adds 2 more bits of damage. She then moves out of the ruins and riles her beasts.
The Warpwolves keep steady and lie in wait.

Troll turn 4
Axer keeps his Iron Flesh
The Axer lays into the Wold Wyrd and ruins his Spirit aspect. I have no way of healing it since Kaya cannot heal rock /construct beasts.
The Axer then is forced to regen.
Impaler charges the Gnarlhorn. The hit is boosted and does 8 damage and cripples his Spirit aspect.
A second attack is forced and hits, however the damage is not enough to surpass the big goat’s ARM.

Druid turn 5
Occultation is dropped from the Gnarlhorn.
Kaya activates and heals the Gnarlhorn, and riles the Warpwolf a little bit.
The Gnarlhorn activates and head butts the Impaler. The troll is knocked to the ground. The big goat then punches the troll for no damage. Damn! A second  hit does 8 points of damage. It is down but not out. A third attack is forced and the damage is boosted. The Impaler goes squish now.
The crippled Wyrd attacks the Axer and misses.

Troll turn 5
The Axer keeps his Iron Flesh buff.
A threshold check is needed from the Axer. He fails, frenzies and hits the Wyrd for 3 more damage. The little rock is still kicking.
The Pyre troll activates his animus to gain a strength bonus. Then he charges the Gnarlhorn and does not make it. I consider a counter charge with the big goat, but pass. I don’t want to set him on fire from hitting that damn burning troll.
The troll shuffle continues.

Druid turn 6
The Pureblood warps for ghostly so he can move through terrain unhindered. There are three troll beasts lined up begging for a spray attack. The Pureblood unleashes his Death Howler breath weapon. He boosts to hit the Mauler and does 4 points of damage. He boosts to hit the Axer and does 8 damage to cripple his body aspect. A final boost to hit the Pyre troll does 4 damage.
The Gnarlhorn shifts and hopes the Pyre troll will frenzy and will keep from being the target.
Kaya heals the Gnarlhorn’s remaining damage.
The Wyrd fires at the Axer again and causes 4 damage. Damn! It only has one box of life left. Go little crippled rock monster!

Troll turn 6
The Axer keeps his Iron Flesh, he really likes that spell I guess.
The Pyre troll passes his frenzy test. Boo!
The mauler is able to navigate the ruins and get to the Pureblood wolf. He activates his Rage animus to gain +3 strength. Damn this is going to hurt!
The first punch hits for 7 damage. The second hits for 10 damage. A third is forced for 11 damage. The white wolf is killed.
The Axer swings at the Wyrd and does 2 more damage. Still not enough.
Borka activates and heals the Axer a few points.

Druid turn 7   Time to split this scene or Its almost all or nothing time.
The Wyrd fires again at the Axer and finally kills the troll. Hooray for the little floating rock gun monster. Hooray attrition!
The Feral wolf warps for a SPD buff and gets out of the ruins and sprints toward the troll back lines. Kaya then teleports the Gnarlhorn over to the Warpwolf. Finally, she teleports herself near both of the big beasts.
Troll turn 7
Borka turns and hucks a bomb at the Feral wolf. It hits for 9 damage.
The Impaler aims at Kaya and boost to hit….and then misses. Whew!
The Pyre troll activates his animus and charges the Feral wolf. The charge hits and does 5 damage. The second attack misses.
The Mauler confused that his quarry disappeared turns and moves to find something new to hit. The Wyrd is close enough to get a free strike at the big meaty troll. It hits for 3 damage! The Mauler then regens for 3 points. Boo!
Druid turn 8
The Wyrd moves forward and gets a back strike on the Keg Carrier. It is hit and killed. Wyrd is going for M.V.P.!
The Gnarlhorn pops his animus to gain extra charge distance. He then charges Borka and gets there without a free strike from the Mauler. It was super close, like two hairs width of distance. The charge attack misses. Damn! The first fist connects for 3 damage. The second punch  is boosted and misses. Damn missed chance there.
The Feral activates and warps for +2 strength. He bites the Pyre troll for 2 damage and gets lit on fire!
The first claw attack hits and is boosted damage. 18 points later the Pyre troll falls and the fire goes out. Whew!
The Feral is then forced to regen for 2 points.
Kaya heals the wolf for an additional point and then teleports over to the Wyrd.

Troll turn 8     The possible regret turn?
The Impaler and mauler take frenzy checks and pass.
The Mauler activates his Rage again. His first fist connects on the goat for 16 points. The second fist connects for 6 points. He then chain attacks and gets a free head-butt, which hits and kills the Gnarlhorn. All his hits are boosted and he is full of fury. Maybe a frenzy next turn?
Damn the goat was beaten down with his signature heat butt move!
The Impaler throws at the Wyrd  with an aim bonus  and a boost to hit. He connects and boosted damage gets 2 more points through. The Wyrd still is functional, but barley.
Borka heals himself 3 points. He then throws a bomb at Kaya. It misses and deviates enough to catch her and the Wyrd in the blast. The blast damage is low enough to do no damage to either of them.

Druid turn 9
The Wold Wyrd activates and moves to block a potential charge lane.
Kaya begins by hurling a Spirit Fang at Borka. It hits for 3 damage and a minus to SPD and DEF.
She repeats this  for another 6 damage. Borka transfers the damage to the nearby Impaler.
The Warpwolf warps for speed and advances toward the troll warlock. He has no charge lane, but can get there with the added SPD bonus. He Bites the troll for 2 damage. He then connects with a claw for 5 damage. He then claws again for 5 more damage. Borka cannot transfer anywhere. His remaining beasts are full of fury.
The wolf is forced for another attack and his claw connects for 9 damage. Borka falls….the tough roll comes up….failed.

Druids win!
WHAT WE LEARNED……………..
The Dire Troll Mauler is better than I thought. Wiping the floor with two heavy warbeasts, each in a single turn, is scary awesome!
Transfer damage. Hey we remembered it!
The Wold Wyrd did fantastic for a little construct that I couldn’t heal. Extra dice against models with up kept spells is great! Still without that affect, he is pretty weak.
Borka + bomb toss + Kaya = fun.  Borka + charge + kaya = troll win.
Fun is all a matter of who is playing with/against you.
I still hate reach!
