Halloween movie time! Hellraiser : Deader

Hellraiser: Deader- Amy Klein is a journalist (with a comical smoking habit) and has been sent to Bucharest after watching video tape about a resurrection cult called the Deaders. The leader of this cult (whose name is Winter) has members kill themselves and then he brings them back to life.

Once in Bucharest (which is fun to say) Amy tracks down the video owner/mailer and finds her…of course dead and holding that familiar gold puzzle box we know and love! She makes sure to open the box, because who wouldn’t?!This starts the waking dream bit that is ever so popular. Is this all real or not? You know that old song and dance.

Amy eventually find the Deaders and Winter. Who is an ancient relative of the original puzzle box maker. This means he has the ability to bring people back to life? Sure. Whatever. This Deader cult is also annoying the cenobites as the people dying are not going to hell for his pleasure. Pinhead wants Amy to fix the problem so he can go being able to play with the Deaders who have cheated death. Whatever will Amy Klein do?

Well creepy dead girl looks creepy and dead.....

I will have to say that out thirty minutes of this movie had potential. Then it all fell of the rails.

Pinhead and Co. there as the 'Deus ex machina' of the story, which I thought that would be a fun new take. Sadly, it wasn’t and didn’t save this film at all.

This is about all the interaction there is with the cenobite crowd.

Seriously, I get another waking dream movie? Damn it why! What is real? What is not? I didn’t care after the second time they used this device. Plus it is used way too often and it just makes for a jumbled damn dumb mess.

There is a pleasure, pain, drug, sex subway car. Why? It didn’t add anything. Weird just to be weird I guess.

This Winter guy can bring life back to people who kill themselves? Why? Plus if you shoot yourself in the face then you awaken with an always bleeding bloody hole in your face. What? Why kill yourself to come back like that? Amy is killed by Winter or did she do it herself? Wait she has to stop the cenobites/Winter by killing herself again? What the frak is happening here? This is just a damn mess!

Ugh! Why can’t someone make a descent or even entertaining cenobite story?

I’m leaving the Hell-verse behind and jumping over to a killer/thriller called, “You’re Next”. Shouldn’t be any demons or boxes there.
